To Visit
Bath City
The UK’s only city that is a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site; in many ways Bath hasn’t changed much since the days of Jane Austen. This is a city rich in history and designed for pleasure. Ancient history and romantic elegance are complimented today by a twenty-first century buzz with countless restaurants, bars, and theatres. Or if it is retail therapy you’re after then Bath won’t disappoint, with it’s huge variety of independent shops and at the end of November going into December, the Bath Christmas Market, one of the most popular in the country.
Castle Combe
A typical example of the Cotswolds Area of Oustanding Natural Beauty, Castle Combe offers plenty of picturesque walks and quaint villages streets waiting to be explored. The village is instantly recognisable, having featured regularly as a film location, notably in War Horse, Harry Potter and Stardust.
The village has a rich history and the houses are made up of the honey coloured Cotswold stone. As no new houses have been built here since the 1600s this is quite literally somewhere to step back in time.
Cirencester
Set in the heart of the Cotswolds Cirencester was the second largest town only to London in Roman times. Today it is a charming, bustling market town with a range of historical sites and independent shops.
Mentioned in the Doomsday book of 1066 this is an excellent example of a historic market town that is still thriving today.
